13 Amusing Photos of LEGO Star Wars Characters

By on May 3, 2013

The combination of Star Wars characters and LEGOs is definitely a popular mixture. Just look at the wildly popular LEGO Death Star set, a 3,800 piece behemoth that likely takes hours upon hours to complete. Or perhaps the LEGO Star Wars Millennium Falcon, another fan favorite. You will also see spikes on the price of discontinued sets on eBay in addition to scarce supply of existing sets around the holidays.

It’s no surprise that fans of the small plastic toys and the Star Wars universe have posted thousands of pictures on the Internet with famous characters in various poses as well as real-life situations. Check out some of our favorite LEGO Star Wars images below:

The very first Landspeeder set will always be a fave – you get Luke and Obi-Wan and a classic vehicle in an almost vintage-y blocky style.

My favorite set is the Battle of Hoth set (Item: 75014) because Hoth was such a memorable moment for me when I was a kid watching this in the theaters. My brother and I had the Kenner snowspeeder vehicle which was my favorite as well. Good times!

I’m jealous of all of the kids out there. I’m over 30 and when I was a kid, a huge Lego fan, there was not any Star Wars themed sets. The X-wing is by far the best. I still remember making one out of random multi-colored Legos. It was by far my finest Lego work. I might have to build it again, just to compare the two.

    • Jason Stewart

      May 4, 2013 at 9:32 pm

I couldnt agree more, we had to abuse our imagination to build an almost unrecognizable item, and imaging that it was a tie fighter or an x-wing… Darth Maul was my favorite because he died amazingly.

  43. Lyman

    May 3, 2013 at 9:44 am

I really like the Death Star LEGO set because I like LEGO sets with lots of pieces so I like to spend as much time as possible building them.

  51. Dylan

    May 3, 2013 at 10:07 am

    May 3, 2013 at 10:19 am

Mini Millennium Falcon set number 4488. It is very basic but because of the fact that it is easy to build, it was played with the most. It has been blown to bits in many a battle. Then you just quickly reassemble and do it again.

I had the R2D2 Lego Mindstorm set. It had a motor and would beep and stuff. It was like having a real astromech droid except it could only move forward, backward, circles and beep. So pretty much exactly like the movies.

Darth Vader. Always my favorite, but his armor and cloak are perfect in rectangular LEGO form.

  152. John P.

    May 3, 2013 at 2:36 pm

It’s gotta be R2D2. The shape translated well into the Lego set.

Darth Vader…dark and imposing and the embodiment of the empire and “them” in the star wars universe, even in Lego form.

  157. dragonhawk

    May 3, 2013 at 3:13 pm

Lego 7965 Millennium Falcon. You get a sturdy iconic ship and all main characters of Star Wars (some call it EpIV: A New Hope). If you need the droids to complete the cast, 9490 Droid Escape is very affordable at $15.

  158. ChuckD

Definitely the Lego Death Star – coolest set ever! Crazy expensive but so innovative and fun with all the scenes from the various movies.

  165. Jason Mork (MorkMan)

    May 3, 2013 at 3:51 pm

It’s one of the oldest LEGO Star Wars sets out there, but 7110 (Landspeeder) takes the cake for me. It’s got the awesome Luke and Obi-Wan minifigs. I especially like it that Luke is the Mark Hamill version and Obi-Wan is the Alec Guinness version! Old school rocks!

  166. Bryan Knight

    May 3, 2013 at 3:51 pm

Lego Millenium Falcon because it can make the Lego run in less than twelve parsecs!

  167. Taylynne Britton

    May 3, 2013 at 4:16 pm

I’d have to say storm troopers or droideka! I have always liked the droidekas, so having them lego form is pretty cool!

  172. David L

  179. Miles Allie

    May 3, 2013 at 5:50 pm

My favorite set has to be the Millennium Falcon (7965). Why, because it was the most celebrated ship in the first Star Wars movie, Episode IV. It contains Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, Chewbacca, Ben Kenobi, Princess Leia Organa and Darth Vader along with various weapons. JUST AWESOME!

    6949 Robo-Guardian

This set was just the most mindshattering thing as a kid. Building a giant robot with legos made me the happiest 6 year old ever…..and you had enough pieces to rebuild it a million different ways.

  188. Chris Uecke

    May 3, 2013 at 7:11 pm

The millennium falcon. It is great to see how simple Legos can make something as complicated as the falcon possible.

I love the Shanghai Surprise Lego set, because it came with a old-style car and the gangster (not gangsta) mini figures. My son, who was about 4 at the time, loved the car and drove it around for months. I will never forget that set!

  203. Bryan Lopez

    May 3, 2013 at 9:30 pm

    May 3, 2013 at 11:21 pm

Gotta be the republic dropship with AT-OT. That thing could also ‘lift’ a turbo tank or an at-te walker.

Plus this thing could hold a whole army of clone troops for your battles.

  213. John

    May 3, 2013 at 11:27 pm

Chewbacca – Because he’s man’s best friend and Han Solo’s powerful sidekick. Love the picture of him chasing a bone with Han above.

  217. Jeff

    May 4, 2013 at 4:11 am

The Death Star set. You build it and then you can blow it to bits, just like Luke did.

    Yoda, because he is wise

  219. Armand

    May 4, 2013 at 6:36 am

Boba Fett (from Lego kit 8097). It was a significant improvement over the previous figure that came with the much smaller, original Lego Slave 1 (7144). Love Fett due to his bad*** armor, assortment of weapons and reputation in the SW Galaxy. That said, my favorite *kit* is probably either the B-Wing Fighter (10227) due to it being a nice, displayable “model” or the Death Star (10188) because of it’s size and interactive features.

  220. Scott Miller

    May 4, 2013 at 6:39 am

Millennium Falcon of course!! Recognized by even those who do not know details of the saga.

  221. John Cancilla

I like the LEGO Star Wars Death star because it offers a wide variety of characters and great details. It offers a great selection of scenes from he movie and has more than one of the same character for each movie scene so you can have them at different sections of the Death star. All in all, the Death star is just an amazing set.

  233. Miko

    May 4, 2013 at 4:38 pm

I bought my 7 year old future step son a Star Wars lego model of some random space ship from episodes I II or III because I could not afford the Millennium Falcon, which I guess has to be my favorite. But my step sons favorite WILL be the ‘X’ wing fighter because it comes with R2D2. And it seems that it’s the characters that matter more than anything to the younger generation. I say WILL BE because I hope to give this prize to him in June when I next get to see him…He lives in the UK.
