Shut Up and Take My Money: Oreo Churros & Oreo Creme Dip

By on November 7, 2014

shut_up_and_take_my_moneyDo you like classic Oreo cookies? Do you like yummy fried churros? How about combining the two into an amalgamation of infinite sweetness that will make your taste buds break out into an 83-minute version of Ode to Joy?

And what if that Oreo-infused, crunchy churro comes with a small tub of Oreo cookie creme dip to spread all over that stick of fried dough? This is a dream, I’m busting, Jerry, I’m busting!

Ripped right out of Willy Wonka’s brain, the deliciously evil, trans-fat filled geniuses at J&J Snack Foods Corp. have made this a reality. Soon to be available at fast food restaurants, convenience stores and grocery stores nationwide, these double-twisted churros will be rolling out to a store near you in the coming months.

According to the release, the Oreo Churros are described as having “a crispy exterior, warm soft interior and real Oreo cookie pieces in every bite…new Oreo churros have a “just-baked” Oreo cookie taste.” They continue “The churros can be served with Oreo cookie creme dip, rolled in sugar or topped with a favorite ice cream.”

No estimation on the price yet or a date on when these ridiculously awesome treats will appear in stores. I’m pretty sure I’ll pay anything to try it though.

There is only one way to find out. I would like to know how the “warm soft interior” part comes in. Do you have to microwave them?

wow the concept looks very tempting but I agree with Gram that the taste might not be as good as it looks. Seems like sweets are looking for new ways to appeal to the American public due to the increase in health consciousness

I feel like this is one of those things that seems great on paper, but the actual taste isn’t all that spectacular. I will have to taste this hypothesis soon.
