Integrated into the UPS My Choice service, the shipping company has added a new feature called Follow My Delivery to the service. Assuming you pay for expedited shipping methods like UPS Air and Worldwide Express, you will be able to watch the location of your package on a map being updated in real-time.

My Choice is a free service offered by UPS, only requiring registration. The service also allows you to reroute packages to different locations, ideal if you need to send your package to another location that has someone available to sign. You can also reroute packages to UPS Access Point locations in order to hold it.

The mapping system in the Follow My Delivery service will display the driver’s location on the map, but it won’t offer up a past or future route. It will only give you an idea how close the driver is to your home or office. Fedex hasn’t announced a similar service yet, but it’s likely that UPS’s competitor is also working on real-time tracking.
