The 80s Are Online with the Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon Movie Trailer

How to explain Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon?  Do you dream in digital neon? Can you feel the treacherous touch of a cyborg whenever you close your eyes? Have you ever enjoyed a movie with word “Terminator” in the title?  Well then prepare to high five a digital cardboard cutout of Michael Biehn, as Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon brings that special kind of retro noise with a vengeance.  The simple story begins just as any great vision would… with cyborgs.  These cyborgs wage war in the aftermath of Vietnam War II with special operative cyber commandos like the Michael Biehn-voiced Rex Power Colt leading the way.

It is the future… a VHS powered future available for PC and Xbox LIVE.

“I made a promise to a very special lady,” cries Rex Power Colt when tempted to abandon his mission, “a very special lady, America.”

More than just an amalgam of Terminator, Robocop, Aliens, and countless other 80s films, Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon has — wait for it — blood dragons.  And these blood dragons stalk an apocalyptic landscape with devastating lasers.  Their blood has corrupted General Sloan in a way far beyond the Soviet steroids of Rocky IV.  Sloan is “a ruthless cyborg with the power to rule and the will to destroy.”

But don’t take my word for it.  Mike Diva, a new media artist and YouTube personality has weighed in on Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon with a movie trailer.  And this movie — whether it be the 80s, 90s, or beyond, would destroy box office records — if only it was not a far cry from being real.
