Ben’s Bargains improves menu categories for easier deal hunting

This week, we have launched a new category structure for Ben’s Bargains, specifically to help you find deals specific to your shopping list. Here are some of the changes and new categories you will find in the menu dropdown as well as the updated categories page.

First off, we’ve added our most requested category from users, a Freebies feed! In this feed, you will find free entertainment like games and eBooks as well as free trials of popular services and free sample offers from various retailers. You can find Freebies in the menu under the “Services & Special Offers” parent category.

Going down the list:

• Apparel & Fashion has broken out new subcategories for Men’s Activewear as well as Professional clothing like dress shirts & suits.
• Auto has shifted into a new parent category with specific subcategories for popular items like dashcams and auto parts (like motor oil deals).
• Computers was expanded to include new categories for Chromebooks and single board computers like the Raspberry Pi.
• Computer Accessories was expanded to include a new category for 3D Printers. We also removed some older, defunct categories like Blank Media.
• Electronics & Tech was expanded to split out headphones into two subcategories, Wireless and Wired. In addition, we’ve added an Action Cams category for cameras like the GoPro.
• Gaming has been significantly expanded from a single category to a parent category containing subcategories such as Gaming PC hardware, consoles & handhelds, video game software, VR systems like Oculus Quest, classic gaming hardware and tabletop gaming (like board games).
• Groceries & Essentials was expanded with new subcategories for household necessities and office supplies.
• Health & Beauty has been significantly expanded from a single category to a parent category containing subcategories such as Fragrance, Medicine, Shaving & Hair Care.
• Home, Garden & Tools has been significantly expanded with new subcategories for Appliances, Bathroom, Decor, Garage, Heating / Cooling, Lighting, Storage and Vacuums.
• Home Theater has shifted into a new parent category with specific subcategories for Projectors, Receivers, Speakers, Streaming Players and Televisions.
• Kids & Baby has been significantly expanded with baby specific subcategories like strollers / car seats, diapers, child safety, and more.
• Mobile is an entirely new parent category with new subcategories for apps, cases, chargers, smartphones, smart watches and other wearables.
• Pets has been shifted into it’s own parent category.
• Sports, Fitness, & Outdoors has moved to it’s own parent category with new subcategories for sporting goods and supplements.
• Toys & Collectibles has shifted into a new parent category with specific subcategories for popular brands like Disney, Marvel, Star Wars, LEGO, Hot Wheels, Nerf, STEM and more.
• Finally, Travel has been expanded with new subcategories for luggage and travel accessories.

As always, all deals will be viewable on our home page feed. If you go to a parent category feed, it will list all deals in the subcategory feeds. Just like the home page, you can filter these deals by hotness or the latest deals.

Keep in mind, we are currently recategorizing lots of our current deals to be including in the new subcategories. Expect to see subcategories fill up with new deals over the next few weeks. Thanks for using Ben’s!
