The $7500 is a tax credit that our tax dollars are paying for. It is not a rebate. Hyundai and other foreign manufactures are taking advantage of a loophole in the tax credit law for EV's. This car does not qualify for the tax credit if you are buying it. If you lease it, you do not own it. Hyundai is collecting the tax credit as a fleet vehicle, which is the loophole in the law, and then applying to your lease. This can be done with any EV that is leased if you bargain with the dealer. The idea behind the tax credit on EV's was to get more US parts that US people manufactured. This loophole is defeating the whole purpose of the tax credit as it allows these imported EV's to be priced cheaper then the US EV's when leased.

Haha paid for by our tax dollars...right. More like part of the 1.5 TRILLION dollar 2023 budget deficit paid for by dollars with the same intrinsic value as Monopoly money, a fact which other countries are fast waking up to. If our country was a person, it would be living in a trailer park with it's mom, England. Climate change is a scam, EVs are a scam (and per Toyota will bring our electric grid to its knees), and even if it wasn't a scam, all we're doing is crippling ourselves while Asia pollutes without limit and builds up their industrial base to eventually topple us, just like we did with Europe.
