But if you come from the golfing school of thought that says putting is 99% mental — meaning the equipment doesn’t really matter, as long as you trust it — perhaps it’s time to consider a putter that doesn’t cost all that much. Putting Green

Although a putting green may seem more like a golf product you’d want to buy for practicing in the winter, you may be looking for one after three-putting half a dozen times in your opening round this spring.

We really like the Putt-A-Bout Grassroots putting green. It has a reasonable size at 9-by-3 feet, so you won’t have to build a second garage to house it. It only weighs 3.5 pounds, so it’s easy to move around. The kidney shape means you can try a lot of different angles to the three holes at the far end.
