Brought to you by the same creative mind that deep-fried numerous gadgets for a photo shoot, Henry Hargreaves is back with another awesome collection of photos. This time, he’s combined the process of freezing pop culture figures in carbonite, similar to the treatment of Han Solo by the ruthless Jabba the Hut.

Of course, this carbonite is made of delicious chocolate. Heroic pop culture characters portrayed in the series include the Dark Knight, Homer Simpson, The Incredible Hulk, Indiana Jones, Kermit from The Muppets, Raphael from the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Woody from Pixar’s Toy Story franchise.

Pop Culture Figures Frozen in Delicious Chocolate Carbonite

When Return of the Jedi premiered 30 years ago this summer, it lived up to some fans’ expectations and fell short of others. Naturally, any sequel to a beloved movie is going to disappoint in some way.

For fans of Ralph McQuarrie’s art, however, it’s fun to see what could’ve been. McQuarrie, who passed away last year at the age of 82, was the conceptual artist of the original Star Wars trilogy, and his work is beloved by fans for shaping the world of Star Wars, perhaps more than anyone else. While a lot of what we saw on screen was designed by McQuarrie, he also created many designs and characters that didn’t quite make it to celluloid in their originally conceived shape or form.

Let’s take a look at 10 12 pieces of McQuarrie’s art for Return of the Jedi that create an alternate view of what the movie could’ve looked like, from Ewoks living on the water to the Emperor’s throne room in a devilish lava-filled cave.

Ralph McQuarrie’s Stunning Return of the Jedi Concept Art

Developed by graphic designer Paul Petyo and available on the Etsy store Octopus Tree House, this collection of illustrations imagines how various Star Wars villains would look as young, cute kids. The series of drawings includes villains such as Darth Vader, the Emperor, Boba Fett, Jabba the Hutt, the Rancor seen in Return of the Jedi, the Wampa seen in Empire Strikes Back and a Tusken raider from A New Hope.

Within the illustrations, the characters are having fun at events like the carnival, a pool party and a birthday party. For instance, Darth is seen using a magnifying glass to set things on fire, similar to the targeted laser on the Death Star. The designer has included little inside jokes on a couple of the character’s t-shirts as well. Jabba’s shirt, for instance, includes an advertisement for the “All You Can Eat” buffet bar at a fictitious restaurant called The Sarlacc Pit.
