Tired of the boring name that’s assigned to your Wi-Fi network? If you have ever browsed the list of networks in your area, you’ve probably found that the majority are named after the brand of router broadcasting the wireless network.

In order to change that name, you simply have to log into your router through your Web browser. Basically, you just enter a string of numbers into the URL of your browser. You can find this by looking on the bottom of your router or simply searching the Net for your router brand. Netgear routers, for instance, use 192.168.1.1 to reach the admin screen. Up to this point, wireless mesh routers have trended on the expensive side. For instance, crowdfunded options like the Luma and the Eero run $399 and $499 (respectively) for the base models.

There’s definitely opportunity for competitors to compete on price, such as the Amplifi Wi-Fi Mesh Router starting at a $199 price point.

To be fair, people living in apartments and smaller houses likely don’t need Wi-Fi mesh technology. A simple 802.11ac router will do the trick and likely blanket your entire home in a strong Wi-Fi signal. You won’t need additional antennas places around a small apartment.

However, if you live in a larger home with Wi-Fi dead zones, wireless mesh tech is the solution you have been looking for. This type of setup is also ideal for anyone that lives in an older home, in which building materials could include everything from lead lining to chicken wire, ala an inadvertent Faraday cage.

The base model is rated to cover 10,000 square feet while the two more expensive models ($299 & $349) cover 20,000 square feet; the latter two ideal for small business office spaces. In addition, the mesh connection points are 802.11ac rated in the most expensive model while limited to 802.11n on the base model. (The central router is 802.11ac on all three models though.)

Setting up the router is all done on the iOS or Android app; opting for a simple mobile interface over a Web browser setup. With the app you can:

• Track all users / devices connected to the router.
• Setup a guest network that can be used for a set amount of time as well as a maximum number of users.
• Monitor download / upload speeds as well as track over time.
• Assign custom names for the two mesh points (likely the location in a home).
• Figure out connection issues with the diagnosis tool.

Adding an extensive set of parental controls to any home Wi-Fi network, Circle with Disney is a Internet-connected device that lets parents filter content on devices within the home.

In addition, parents can limit the amount of time kids can access content as well as set a specific time when zero content can be accessed on the device, such as bedtime.

Tied to personal logins, the filter option include presets for Pre-K children, elementary school kids, teenagers and adults. Meet the ŠKODA “vRS Mega Man-Pram,” a baby stroller that’s likely been injected with steroids and human growth hormone as well as fed a steady diet of Weight Gain 4000. This testosterone-dripping stroller offers 20-inch alloy wheels, all-terrain tires, hefty brake calipers, hydraulic suspension, rear-view mirrors and a high-beam headlight when strolling back home from Baby Fight Club at 2 a.m.

While ŠKODA built the stroller for an advertisement of their new car, the company also conducted a survey that found 76 percent of men would be more likely to push their baby’s stroller if it were more manly. The most commonly requested features were muscular design, enhanced height, a hydraulic suspension system, high spec brakes,  brake lights and rear-view mirrors. Isn’t Netflix great?  It may just possibly be the greatest equalizer for watching TV since the advent of the VCR (or Betamax for a less successful example.)  The thing about Netflix is that like any enthusiast hobby, there is a right way and a wrong way.  And that is why a Netflix Marathon, say one that culminates in the newly released Season 4 of Arrested Development, has to be approached with the same rigorous attention, caution, and preparation as any other marathon.

Just what the internet needs, another pointless site to waste time on! You weren’t doing anything important today anyway, right? Meet the Procatinator!

I actually read the web address wrong and was pretty surprised that I hadn’t already wasted hours of my life away at procrastinator.com. After a closer look at the site, which features cat gifs that align perfectly with a song (usually some guilty-pleasure ear candy), I discovered the site was so much more interesting and worthy of my time than Procrastinator.

In the name of research, I spent way more time than I’d care to admit clicking through different cat/song combos.
