Shopping for a Nintendo Switch this year? We’ve looked through all the Black Friday ads and broken down where you can get the cheapest Nintendo Switch bundle, the best overall Switch deal and the cheapest deal on additional Switch Joy-Cons (as well as advice on the Switch Lite).

Best Price on a Nintendo Switch Bundle w/ game: $299.99 + $25 Gift Coupon

This bundle was specifically rolled out for the major retailers to sell on Black Friday. It includes a digital copy of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe ($60 MSRP) and is available with the grey joy-cons or the red/blue colors. The best deal will be Thursday through Sunday at GameStop. Their bundle includes a $25 gift coupon as a bonus.

A word of warning on this bundle: Nintendo is clearing out inventory of the older version of the Switch using this bundle, which means you will get about 2.5 to 6.5 hours of battery life versus 4.5 to 9 hours on the new HAC-001(-01) model that came out during September. You will be able to find this bundle at retailers such as:

Best Deal on a Nintendo Switch Bundle: $319.99 + $90 Kohl’s Cash

This bundle doesn’t come with any games, but it does include a carrying case for the Switch (ideal for mobile users) as well as separate charging dock for the joy-cons. Those two additional items would typically run about $40 together.

Of course, the real bonus here is the Kohl’s Cash. Hypothetically, you could use it to pick up a couple new Switch games with the gift card, effectively increasing the value of the overall bundle.

Best Deal on a Nintendo Switch Lite: $199 + $25 GC

Several of the major retailers are listing the Nintendo Switch Lite at full MSRP, no bundles available. However, Gamestop will be offering a bonus $25 Gift Coupon with a purchase of a Switch Lite.

In addition,, Kohl’s is currently listing a couple Switch Lite bundles (example), which would include $60 to $75 worth of Kohl’s cash. Not too shabby!  Online, we’ve already seen sales as cheap as $170 using 15% coupons on sites like Rakuten.  Our advice would be to look for any late arriving online bundles on sites like Amazon or simply snag a coupon discount on sites like eBay, Rakuten when available.

Best Deal on Nintendo Switch Joy-Cons

It’s always good to have a backup set of controllers available and having an additional set makes it easy for friends to join in on multiplayer games like Mario Party.

There are two retailers that have announced they will be discounting the official joy-cons this year, Best Buy and Target. Pricing is identical, a $20 discount on most models. If you are looking for more of a traditional controller, Wal-mart is discounting some $45 controllers down to $29.

Here’s the cheapest Nintendo Switch on Black Friday 2019

Shopping for a PS4 this year? We’ve looked through all the Black Friday ads and broken down where you can get the cheapest PS4 bundle, the best bundled games option as well as the cheapest PlayStation VR bundle on Black Friday this year (as well as advice on the PS4 Pro).

Best Price on a PlayStation 4 Bundle: $199.99 + $60 Gift Card

This PlayStation 4 bundle is ideal for a Fortnite fan, as it includes $20 of in-game Fortnite currency as well as exclusive digital items. This bundle normally sells for $299.99.

Unlike the Xbox One offers, there are a limited number of PS4 deals that offer a bonus gift card this year; a shift from offers during Black Friday 2018.  However, Kohl’s is still one of them.

• Best Overall Deal: PS4 Fortnite Bundle for $199.99 + $60 Kohl’s Cash

You will likely be able to find this bundle for the same price at other retailers, but without the gift card. You would probably be better off getting the next bundle for the same price.

Best Bundled Games with a PS4 Console: $199.99

This bundle includes three of the best-reviewed games in the PS4 generation, The Last of Us, God of War and Horizon: Zero Dawn. These 3 games can typically be found for $60 total typically.

This bundle is being offered at multiple retailers at $100 off the $299.99 MSRP. Best Buy is probably your best bet on Black Friday, due to significant inventory.

You will likely find this bundle at Amazon, Target, Sam’s Club, Costco and many other retailers this month; both online and in-store.

Best Price on a PlayStation VR (PSVR) Bundle: $199.99

If you already have a PS4 (or want to add VR to the above console deals), you can’t go wrong with the PSVR bundles on Black Friday. This bundle normally sells for $299.99.

This particular bundle is exception because it offers $100+ in bundled games along with the VR headset. Those games include Skyrim, Astro Bot, Resident Evil, Golf VR, and PlayStation Worlds; (Total MSRP: $145).

• Target: Not listed on site yet.

You will find plenty of PSVR bundles for a similar sales price, but this it likely the best deal when it comes to bundled VR games (which are priced at a premium compared to regular PS4 games).

Best Price on a PlayStation 4 Pro: $299.99 + $25 Gift Coupon

Sony just announced all retailers that carry the Pro will be discounting the base model from $399.99 to $299.99 for Black Friday sales. You can read more on their blog post here. But GameStop will be offering a bonus $25 gift coupon with the purchase of a White Glacier PS4 Pro, at the $299 sale price.

Just FYI, you can already find deals like this in the Ben’s feed, which discounted the PS4 Pro to $294 with an extra controller as a bonus.

Here’s the cheapest PS4 on Black Friday 2019

Shopping for an Xbox One this year? We’ve looked through all the Black Friday ads and broken down where you can get the cheapest Xbox One S Digital console, cheapest Xbox One S console and the cheapest Xbox One X console on Black Friday this year.

Best Price on a Xbox One S Digital Edition: $149.99

The Xbox One S Digital Edition has a cheaper price than the regular console due to the lack of a disc drive. All games purchased for the console must be digital. It does come with three bundled games: Minecraft, Fortnite and Sea of Thieves.

Two retailers are reducing the cost on the Xbox One Digital Edition from $249.99 to $149.99 on Black Friday.  Those retailers include:

You will likely sell similar sales at the Microsoft Store, Amazon and Target on or before Black Friday.

Best Price on a Xbox One S Bundle: $199.99 + $60 Gift Card

There are a variety of Xbox One S bundle options, but one of the top bundles for Black Friday offers the Xbox One S 1Tb console with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order (80+ average on MetaCritic).

Several retailers will reduce this bundle from $299.99 to $199.99 on Black Friday, but there are two standout options. Those retailers include:

• Kohl’s: Includes $60 Kohl’s Cash (gift card) with purchase.
• Target: Includes $40 Target Gift Card with purchase.

Other retailers that have this bundle for $199.99 include Best Buy, Walmart, Sam’s Club and Costco. Many retailers will also have other Xbox One S bundles at $200, if you prefer a different game than Fallen Order.

Best Price on a Xbox One X Bundle: $349.99 + $105 Gift Card

There are fewer Xbox One X bundles available than the S model, but the NBA 2K20 bundle is a solid purchase for an Xbox One X discount & a bonus gift card.

Similar to the S, several retailers are reducing the price from $499.99 to $349.99 for Black Friday. Again, there are a couple standout options. Those retailers include:

• Kohl’s NBA 2K20 bundle: Includes $105 Kohl’s Cash (gift card) with purchase.
• Target Gears of War bundle: Includes $40 Target Gift Card with purchase.

Other retailers that have this bundle for $349.99 include Best Buy, Walmart, Costco and Sam’s Club.

Here’s the cheapest Xbox One on Black Friday 2019

If you haven’t heard, Nintendo had to aggressively slash sales projections by nearly 70 percent after a slow holiday season of Wii U sales. Despite the $50 price cut during late 2013, Nintendo is projecting sales of 2.8 million Wii U consoles for the 12-month period between April 2013 and March 2014. That’s down from a previous projection of 9 million consoles. It also pales in comparison to the 4 million Sony PlayStation 4 consoles and 3 million Xbox One consoles sold in the past two months.

Does this mean Nintendo is on the ropes? Long answer: Nope. Short answer: No. Here’s why:

1. Nintendo is an extremely solvent company with nearly 10 billion dollars in the bank, half in cash assets and half in bonds. The projected operating loss of $205 million is a drop in the bucket for the company and is typical of the gaming console hardware cycles that have occurred over the last 25 years.
2. While 3DS sales also dropped, it’s still the dominant, standalone handheld gaming device. Nintendo is projecting sales of more than 13 million 3DS devices over the same 12-month period, a figure that’s probably 4x to 5x the number of Sony PlayStation Vita devices sold.

Of course, there are definitely a handful of reasons why this will be good for gaming deals in 2014. Here are a few 2014 predictions:

1. Nintendo has no choice but to get more aggressive on the Wii U pricing structure and bundling options. While Nintendo didn’t have to cut the price on the first Wii for three years in North America due to gangbuster sales, the Wii U has much more in common with the Gamecube and N64 in regards to popularity. Historically, the Gamecube was cut to 50% of the original price in less than two years and the N64 got a 35% cut in the same time period. If history is any indication, the Wii U will hit a sweet spot around $199 before holiday 2014.
2. Nintendo has promised to “shake up management” and “think about a new business structure.” Hypothetically, this could lead Nintendo down the path of more mobile device integration (thus opening up the possibility of less expensive Nintendo games on smartphones) or branching out by developing multi-console releases of popular Nintendo titles. The latter is an extreme long shot (like 0.01%), but one that’s always delighted the imagination of PlayStation and Xbox devotees.
3. The starting MSRP for Wii U games will likely fall to the $50 price point (from $60) due to lagging software sales as well as the ever-prevailing view that the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One are much more powerful than the Wii U hardware. This will mean retailer sales could hit at the $40 to $45 price point at launch and offer more aggressive discounts during the 2014 holiday season at a $25 to $30 price point.

While it’s possible that we will see all of these things happening by the E3 Expo (June 2014), it’s more likely that major pricing announcements and aggressive cuts will hit around the time of the Toyko Game Show (September 2014).
