Beware: Stores like Home Depot and Lowes only have a 48 hour return policy on large appliances. Do you really want to have to ship a large appliance at your own expense back to the manufacturer after 3 days when something goes wrong? Costco has a 90 day return policy.
^ Some brands do on-site repair or pickup and replacement as needed.
However I don't find 48 hrs that much of an issue. Obviously longer would be better but I don't buy things till I'm ready to get them installed and tested and if they work out of the box, it's usually years before something fails. Plus I don't have a Costco membership.
Granted most of my appliances are very old - they don't make them like they used to!
