Non-UL uses no ULs in the mechanism that powers the diaphragm. ULs have been shown to be harmful to fish. Basically a brushless motor for the airpump folks.

@Marka... Whatchoo talkin' bout Willis? UL-listed means that a product is recognized by the Underwriters Laboratory as meeting specific safety requirements. Not sure what "ULs" you are referring to that are harmful to fish....
