T-Mobile has rolled out their new T-Mobile Home Internet Service in select areas (click "Check availability" to see if it's in your area yet). The service is $50/month and promises no data caps, no contracts, no hardware costs, no "hidden fees."

Speed and throttling cap are few of my concerns.

This is obviously beneficial to areas that don't have access to cable or DSL, like mine. Satellite internet or cellular only. Unfortunately TMobile service is almost a 50 Mile drive for any service at all. Luckily I got Verizon's discontinued unlimited prepaid jetpack plan and don't have any issues.

Speed isn't much of an issue for everyone, I don't know many that wouldn't be satisfied with 5 meg. Not many stream. Doesn't take much to be better than satellite internet. This zipcode it starts at $110 for up to 12 meg down, 35gb threshold, and streaming is limited to 360p full time.

Waiting patiently for Starlink, since 5g will not be beneficial here 13 miles from Verizon's tower, at least any time soon. Not that what I have isn't more than fast enough.

Frontier is offering 500mbs down and 500mbs up for $40/mo. I think I'll pass on this T-Mobile "deal"!

Thanks for the suggestion on Frontier

this is valuable to me inasmuch as i can now call up my ISP and legitimately give them a competing offer in my area to match. we have a utility monopoly in my area, so prior to this t-mo service, there was no competition.

competition is good for consumers. ironically, this is exactly why the t-mo/sprint merger should be blocked.

Hopefully we can see more of this roll out to areas that have few choices in service providers.

It would be an amazing deal once 5G rolls out and if it remains $50 a month without caps

Form takes your address but doesn’t confirm availability. You’ll need to provide contact info for them to spam you about first.

Hope it’s fast though.

I have T-Mobile cell service and get 80 Mb speed on my phone Internet test using Speedtest/FAST/sourceforge speed tests. If they offer home Internet based off your best available LTE speeds… I’ll be belly belly happy.

Been using it for over a month. Depending on your location the connection could **** or could be ok. I use it on the go. I take it with me, the battery lasts for many hours. Not being tied to the home is great.
I think the price is a bit steep, bit I will use it for a few more month and see where I stand with it. No contract, it’s month to month.
