I disagree, swreynolds. While the Rubbermaid step stool would be probably be the right height for "comfort height" or "chair height" toilets at almost 10" tall, it would be too tall for regular toilets. More importantly, it is not configured right for spreading your legs/knees/feet when you're sitting on a toilet. I have one of these Rubbermaid step stools and while it's extremely sturdy and durable, it's definitely not made for "straddling" a commode.
Years ago, I purchased the 7-inch-tall Step and Go toilet stool at a significant savings over the name-brand "Squatty Potty." The toilet stool (any brand at all) is natural to use and there is a MAJOR difference when you're using one. Look at this YouTube video for a hilarious explanation of how elevating your feet, mimicking squatting, helps your bowels work more easily: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YbYWhdLO43Q
If you have a "comfort height" or a "chair height" toilet, I would suggest a 9-inch-tall toilet stool, but the Step and Go brand is half the cost of the Squatty Potty brand and I gladly recommend it! Again, with regular height toilets, the 7-inch-tall version is perfect. Here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00G5PTWT4
