Yeah, this is a Peltier cooler, which consumes a ton of energy to accomplish very little. Efficiency on these things is dismal.
A proper refrigeration-compression fridge is more expensive but pays for itself in just a few years of power bills. I've been very happy with my Acopower which I believe is the same OEM as Alpicool, Iceco, and the others. (They all use the same power plug, anyway.)
