Sadly, this cord is CCA (Copper-Clad Aluminum) rather than plain copper, so despite the relatively heavy gauge, it is really only suitable for regular loads up to 15 Amp - fine if you just need a heftier alternative to a basic extension cord, but not for the sort of use a lot of people looking for cables in this gauge would want to put it through.

as purposelycryptic pointed out its not pure copper wire...Id pass if i was in the market for a truly heavy duty cord that could handle a lot of amps. But if you don't need to push all those amps like I do then it might be ok for standard use
