Amazon has the Shun Classic 8" Chef's Knife (DM0706) for $100 with free shipping. The "Classic" knives are still made in Japan and are not on sale as often as some of their newer lower-end models. 

Has ebony pakkawood handle and VG-MAX super steel clad with 34 layers of Damascus stainless steel.

Great knives, just be aware that it requires maintenance. You can't just treat these like any other knives. No leaving them in the sink for hours. Clean and dry out after every use.
