Guru3D's power supply recommendation for a R9 290 DirectCU II OC Edition which has 1000Mhz boost: For an average system the card requires a 550~600 Watt power supply unit; I can't see this P-C edition (975Mhz boost) any different.
If you intend an OC'd i7 and then looking to OC this card figure 650-700W. Worst case when you run a PSU calculator... working an OC i7 4.4Ghz, H100 AIO cooler and all the goodies in SSD, HDD, fans, etc... then even if I ratchet it up to a 290X; I was getting a recommendation of 550W. So for a "average" build with a good quality 550W PSU is acceptable.
