I don't really understand what this even does. Connects to WiFi to make your old system play music through WiFi? I guess that's good?

I think I'm pretty well versed in computers / networking / audio, and that is a pretty crazy set of requirements. I need special speakers? Why in the world does it need internet connectivity? Chromecast Audio @ $35 (new, not refurb) does what this product is trying to do.
