Free is more than it is worth. I had an air conditioning guy come over for $50, he was so incompetent his *** stunk, a local guy put in freon instead of changing $100 capacitors and it worked.

A few years back my father's A/C went out and the bill to come out and swap a motor start/run capacitor was over $200. You got off cheap.

Unfortunately that > $200 capacitor was the cheapest capacitor make/model on the market which failed about 2 years later. I was in town at the time, went to the local HVAC supply house and got a replacement for ~ $13.

I bet it wasn't a flux capacitor.

The moose **** company I picked off Angies List went belly up 3 months later and left a leaky roof behind.

Good deal but I have more trouble contacting and finding contractors through AL than by simple google searches.

They want your credit card info because its automatic renewal when the free subscription expires. Had Angie's List they just bill you no warning to cancel before hand. Angie's List is about selling contractor advertising. No thanks.

Free is Free. Its another tool in the box. Just shouldnt be the only tool you use when finding someone to use.

If you are a contractor or service provider, you almost need to be on Angie's list. I know a couple of companies that get about a quarter of their business through the service.
