Got a Moto G6 (not a Play) for $185 from B&H before Christmas. Honestly, which is better... they go back and forth in many items, but I wanted battery life over speed and review had it as improved. This G6 gets about 3 days battery life on light duty: texts, few phone call, and pulling up the ring door bell 8-10x day. Interestedly it seems to get to a ring video as fast if a little quicker than the wife's Samsung 8. I just figured the newer design and price at the time would be a better place long term.
We've had great luck with our X4, and it just updated to Pie. Not sure if it lasts 3 days on light use (2 days for sure) but it's quick, responsive, has a great display and the camera is solid. Not Pixel solid, but definitely $150 solid.
I have had the Android One model for almost a year and it's been a solid phone. The camera could be better and the screen could be a tad larger, but knowing what I know about the phone I'd gladly pay $165 to if I needed to replace the one I have now.
