^ "Most" Logitech mice today that have a battery compartment for 2 x AA or 2 x AAA, run the cells in parallel so you can actually use only 1 x AA or 1 x AAA in them if you want to.
Additionally if you use 2 x cells in parallel they will last about twice as long as one unless they are high self discharge (old school) NiMH or NiCd.
