Not to be picky.... but based on this description couldn't this expensive sugar alternative be a single packet of stevia mixed with lots of table sugar? After all table sugar is made from sugar cane/beets and is therefore "plant-based"? Just sayin'...
^ Product descriptions are just a brief description. If you want all details, read the product label and become familiar with the nutritional aspects. For example a serving is 4 grams so if it were just a fancy name for sugar that would be 16 calories, while this product has (rounds down to) 0 calories.
In addition to the stevia and the fiber which makes up the bulk of the product, the primary sweetener is erythritol which has a fraction of a calorie per gram but due to the whole numbers used to calculate, rounds down to zero.
