Ok I'll say it - I bought an Apple-branded SCSI CD-ROM drive in the 90's for $300. Not even CD-R.
Now a CD-RW is almost worthless. Progress.

^ I bought at least 10 free after rebate CDRW drives a decade ago from deals on Ben's but then the CDRW/DVD combo drives hovered around $20-$30 for several years which was surprising, especially after BD drives dropped below $80.
