Google is now offering Google Earth Pro for $0 downloaded. This used to be sold for $399 a year. Provides close up high definition 3D viewing, planning, mapping, and measuring as well as data on demographics and traffic.

It may require a couple of tries to sign up. The link URL mentions that this is a trial version, but it is still unclear whether it is limited or not.

3rd try got it for me. Only filled out the form once and submitted when it failed I hit the back button and submitted again, kept doing that until it worked. Got the key right away when it did work.

I've been curious about this program since I downloaded the free version. It is pretty cool to have the definition that I heard was good. It gives me some idea of what is out there watching us from space and what can be seen. The pictures are older, but interesting all the same. What a wonderful thing to have access to. Thanks Google !

Meh....ok...well free so whatever...Glad as shyte I didn't pay that ungodly amount they normally want....SO not up to date. Still shows my apt complex not even there yet (empty field) I've lived here since Sept 2013
