I was wondering how this connected to the garage door so I looked it up. In case you're considering getting one, the connection is done by wire to either the wall button or the back of the garage door opener. You really need to add a door sensor to every door. From what I've seen you can use any cheap magnetic wired alarm door sensor (they sell one for $35 which seems excessive), you also have the option to use their wireless sensor. The nice thing is that it's compatible with pretty much every single garage door opener out there, and it's easy to install if you're not afraid to run low voltage wires. Shame it's not HomeKit compatible.
The MyQ is great, don't make the mistake to buy it on where it is way overpriced. Directly from Chamberlain is cheaper. Combined with the 888LM wall control, it is a replacement for their older Internet Gateway, with the benefit of being wireless instead of requiring an Ethernet connection. If you previously bought an Internet Gateway set to add MyQ capability to your Chamberlain/Liftmaster GDO, you can add this device and pair it to your already installed 888LM. This will add HomeKit compatibility to your GDO, and you can get rid of your Ethernet connected Internet Gateway.
I have the MyQ system. I do not recommend it because they charge a monthly charge just to integrate with another system like Google home or Alexa. They do not offer a free way to do this. There are free options for other systems.
If you are ok to open the app and check/open/close rather than do the same with your voice then this will work for you.
