Just curious.... Is anyone actally all over this particular deal?? Although the discounted price seems good, it seems like the kind of thing that would be only interesting to a VERY LIMITED audience if you are either in the process of building, or in the midst of a major roof/truss project, or are just looking for a challenging project that involves navigating the contortionist-designed crawlspace of most modern attics.

I definitely may be in the market for one, as it's something I have been considering for some time now. Despite a fairly new roof and decent roof venting, our attic still gets "very" hot in the summers, and we've long suspected that this heat radiates down into the living area of our upper level (and yes, I realize that heat "rises"). Moreover, we store a lot of stuff up in our attic, and we worry about how the summertime heat may impact it, over time. Yeah though, I agree that the project would not be fun.....
We have one and my wife recently told me she thinks it stopped working. I haven't gone up in the attic to look yet, but most likely will this week to check it out. We set ours to exhaust 100 or 105 degrees.

I recently read that storing things in the attic can affect ventilation up there, the boxes and items can mess with the flow of air. Also, the items or plywood floor if used can compresses any insulation making it less effective. Don't know if it's true, but makes sense.
I installed one years ago and am considering a second on the opposite side of the attic. I agree with #2, the heat is still accumulating up there and creeping down into the living room area.
I've considered getting one, wouldn't be too much trouble to install because there's already wiring going through the attic with capacity to spare, so would just put in a junction box to tap off that. Main thing about navigating an attic is that you're better off wearing a hard hat if there's nails poking through the roof.
I had one installed a few years back and last year it started making noise and I saw the oil was dripping out so I unplugged it. I actually ordered a replacement one last night to install before it gets super hot again.
