I usually just get the sliders, some onion chips and skip the fries and coke, though their prices keep going up. It takes about 4 of them to equal one $1.20 McDouble so even if you're into minimalist burgers it costs 3 times as much.
Disgusting depends on your frame of reference. The very finely ground beef is gray colored and so thin it might fall apart if you attempted to hold it by the edge, but is reasonably tender and has a nice level of greasiness that soaks into the otherwise light and airy bun along with giving the caramelized onions more flavor.
The one or two tiny pickle slices have so much added food coloring that it stains the bun green where they sit but that adds to the charm.
It's not the kind of thing you should eat very often but if you're in the mood for them then they just slide down, hence the "sliders" name.

Wrong. I absolutely enjoy my trip to White Castle once every two years.
I thought they were called sliders because, rather than slide down, they slide on the way out.
Thank you!
