It's actually 4 UPS+Surge outlets (not UPS only) and 2 Surge-only outlets. All outlets have surge protection. Put your power-sucking, non-essential devices on the Surge-only outlets--such as a printer or your subwoofer. As tnaant suggested, *no* USB can be a deal-breaker if you're running a computer, but not for other devices like cable modems, wifi routers, etc.
