    Fair price, but " All Fire Devices are clunky and a waste of money". Layout and settings are super duper out dated. That's said, If you really really need a portable starter device at a fair price and you don't mind the sponsored Lock-screen Ads, then get it. This is my opinion.

    FYI., "Offer Type: Lock-screen Ad-Supported". Which is why it cost $69.99.
    The ad-supported option (also known as Special Offers or Lock-screen Ads) displays sponsored screensavers on your device's lock-screen.

    Hard pass. Like goldeneye0007 said, might be good for a starter device, or for someone who's not too savvy with modern electronics. But you're locked into
    Amazon
    's clunky OS, their resale of books, movies, etc, and their app store (so no Google Play apps, unless they're also available for Fire tablets).

    I honestly tried to make one of their 8" tablets work for me, just for e-book reading. What a waste of time, unless you want to re-buy all your books on
