Amazon has the Amazon Basics USB 3.1 Type-C to 3 Port USB Hub with Ethernet Adapter (L6LUD001-CS-R, Black) for $6.27 with free shipping on $25+ or with Prime.
^ Some people have their ethernet port burn out because they didn't put their switch or router on a sufficient surge protector, so surge goes through the link.
Another possibility is the cable was bumped or snagged and damages the port's PCB solder joints.
Better question is why not, if it's adding little if any additional cost? I suppose if traveling with it, slightly less bulk would be one reason.
While a single user probably has minimal need, two ports are very useful in isolating a guest network or even a printer, in interconnection to cellular service, in network monitoring applications, and many others. As for the comment about travel, I always try to travel with a hub which includes an ethernet port.
Bozo is cleaning house before the upcoming market crash. Look at Amazon 's (Ticker symbol: AMZ) 52 week high compared to yesterday's market close. $3,095 down to the current $89.84... He's hurting!
