^ Only if the surface is VERY soft. They won't scratch most plastics, nor glass, metal, finished wood, etc.

Their yellow sponges with the green scrub pad, on the other hand, will scratch most surfaces including metal, and even glass, especially when the sponge is new.

I've never had these cause any scratches on my pots and pans. I suppose they WILL scratch a stick of butter though...
