Interesting offer, but the nearest store is ~50 miles from me. Many reviewers say that the Quaker State is not really a full synthetic, but a blend.

Regardless of its actual composition, please notify us where else we can purchase name-brand oil AND an oil filter (made by Purolator) for $10. Thank you in advance (see what I did there).

Just today, I received my $20 rebate check from Quaker State in the mail for this identical purchase 3 months ago (two 5-quarts of full synthetic oil plus two oil filters for $40 at Advance Auto Parts).

This is a GREAT deal...even more so when I use my 2 separate $5-off-of-a-$10 purchase coupons on 2 separate transactions (from being a Speed Perks member).

How can you go wrong with full synthetic oil period. Not only is it supposed to be better for your engine , but it lasts longer and now just as cheap. No way you can change your oil for 10 bucks regardless. Probably wouldn't put this into a BMW but certainly a domestic no problem

There is no limit you can buy however rebate is only 2 per house .. I pickup 10 oil changes (50 quarts of oil that is ) for the year and then some .. the deal is for a purolator filters not Driveworks .. I paid the 2 dollars extra to get purolator one filter vs just classic purolator filter. Better filter

The total maximum rebate possible is $24 per person, household or address (email and physical). Purchases by an installer for use in its business do not qualify for this offer.

This is a fantastic deal. I'm back on the "do-it-yourself" oil changes after getting a leak from my oil pan from a fresh out of tech school grease monkey with an air ratchet. That made me look at my Outback and realize how easy it to take care of it the right way.

Yes, the rebate is a great deal in and of itself. What makes this a phenomenal deal is the fact that Advance Auto Parts has about 50 bucks of oil-change materials for $19.99. Combined with the rebate, this becomes an OUTSTANDING deal.

^ True it may not increase the change period needed to satisfy the warranty, but it can be used for more miles until it has degraded enough to need changing, particularly if those miles are racked up quickly instead of old, acidic oil sitting in a vehicle used less often.

No. The recommended change interval in miles driven is not changed.

Better, worse, NOBODY can tell. Even CR-s last study could not tell, so I'm not going to fall for a lot of BS from the I-net trolls.

You tell 'em, sue! Seriously, if you care about this stuff then you should ship a sample of your used engine oil to one of the labs around the country that will analyze it for you and tell you every little detail. It's not too expensive.

Edit: The test results that I have seen state that the tested oil could be run for ~10,0000-12,000 miles between changes in those particular engines. YMMV.

Only true in one case, where they base the recommendation on an assumption that somebody will screw something up and not use 100% full synthetic oil.

These days a lot of vehicles use the computer to calculate oil life based on the type of oil, and it varies with driving conditions, is not just putting up an oil change indicator based on mileage.

Otherwise it is proven many times over that synthetic oil lasts longer and does not need changed as often. Further the recommendation for oil changes was never really in miles at all, that was just another dumbed-down way of putting it for people who can't understand that 50 continuous highway miles don't equal to 20, 2.5 mile trips to the local store when it comes to oil wear...

BUT, do be sure you have documentation of oil changes on whatever interval the owner's manual recommends at least until the drivetrain warranty is over so the manufacturer has no grounds to deny warranty coverage. Note that some of them require dated receipts of an actual oil change and receipts for the purchase of the oil itself is not sufficient. I don't agree with their reasoning but it's been known to be an issue.

I have an Amex offer of $20 off a purchase of $50 or more at Advance Auto Parts. So if I get 3 of these, I'll pay $60, get $20 in rebates and $20 from Amex. $20 for three oil changes?! Amazing!

When you compare the cost of fluids and filters to what your putting them in it doesn't make sense to cut corners. I stick with quality respected names. I consider Mobile One, Casterol, and Valvoline the cheap but reliable alternatives. And Mobile 1 is pretty cheap at
Walmart
along with the frequent rebates. I run Mobile 1 0-40 in everything since BMW says its good enough for 15K although I change it at 7.5K since I feel that is too long and cheap insurance. I have 250K on my BMW and is still going strong and haven't an engine failure in anything ever with this program. It means I pay more for oil and filter but in the big picture its a speck of sand on the beach.
