our local had these in the 2700k variety on clearance for just a buck more per bulb. I vouch for the brightness of these. we installed 9 of them in the open - cannister in-ceiling fixtures in our kitchen 2 months ago. replaced the **** spiral CFL bulbs that never lasted over a year before the base turned brown and the bulb failed. so far we have a nice bright kitchen. can't yet vouch for longevity. we'll see.

So far, all Philips LED bulbs I've installed haven't had any premature failures despite constant use. These include flood lamps, A19 round/flat, in daylight and soft white brightness, and dimmable as well as non-dimmable. Not a single failure. (Watch.. I probably jinxed myself.)
Several brands have failed for me, but Philips has been the one bright spot. (Yeah, that was intended). Anyway, Philips is all I buy now. Good LED lights.
