These are awesome. You should buy this sample box, use it for a project or two. Then buy the big boxes of them like I did because they are so much nicer to use than regular wire nuts.
Tempting, I'm sure that eventually I'll come across some situation where these are perfect for the job, though I too have had no problem using traditional wire nuts in household or appliance wiring situations rather than soldered together electronics projects.
I wouldn't risk it for mains AC connections if these were a made up generic Chinese brand but WAGO is a real, established brand for this segment.

Not at all the same thing. Cars had substantial advantages while these, depends highly on the situation. For a *permanent* connection a wire nut is less expensive, arguably takes up less space/less-fragile when you have to stuff it back in a tight clearance wire box, with the trade off being the wire nut takes a few seconds longer to install which may matter for repetitive large assemblies but not so much a couple connections for a one-off project.
So many different connectors exist because they all have their lace.

I have been using similar (but not identical copies) Chinese generics (gray body, orange levers) for installing smart switches and light fixtures and they've been very reliable -- a lot more than these stupid twisty cones.

I've found that the lever-nuts take up less space than wire-nuts. The bodies themselves are smaller (except for the 5-wire), and since they don't need the extra wire-length for twists, they end up much easier to cram into boxes.

I wouldn't risk the Chinese knockoffs, though.
Thank you!
