I've ordered this before, and it is not great. The chocolate flavor is gross, and the vanilla is only slightly less awful. Ridiculously hard to dissolve in water unless you use a blender or something. Just my opinion, but find something else.
I have ordered this along with all the other mixes and pure protein powders. This along with Syntha and Muscle Milk are simply a meal replacement. You need fats and carbs to go along with your protein or you simply **** it out unless your consuming pre / post workout. I use BCAA's a carb mix and some other amino's in water pre workout, after I can relax with Syntha, Muscle Milk or this in a mixer cub of Almond Milk to get a nice shake and enough calories, fats, sugars and protein to get me to dinner or drink this before bed to stave off fasting. Nutrition is not complicated. As for taste and mix-ability? Could be worse. I have had worse and for this price this is not that bad. It mixes fine in a shaker cup.
"You need fats and carbs to go along with your protein or you simply **** it out unless your consuming pre / post workout."
That is some of the worst, most misinformed bro-science I have ever read. I think you are taking something you read about fat-soluble vitamins and applying it to everything that goes in your mouth. Bottomline, this is a low-quality, diluted protein that tastes bad. If you have some basic algebra skills, calculate cost per-gram and buy on that basis.
^ Except a general well balanced diet does still need fat and carbs so when calculating, be sure to add the cost of fat and carbs from the food that supplements that, and the burden of having to do more than one thing to consume them.
"Low quality" is a meaningless concept. Unless you're drinking it with a snack rather than alone, it should provide the entire substitute and it's arguably "low quality" if it were pure protein towards that end.
Cost per gram of protein is .0195. Match that up with your other blends to see the value. This stuff is engineered nutrition. Engineer your own if you don't like it but it's still a very good deal and tastes fine. Just use Almond milk.
Just got two tubs delivered today. Vitacost is almost always overnight free shipping. My son who is in ROTC tears through this stuff. He likes the chocolate but does not like the vanilla. I let him drink the cheaper stuff while I prefer Optimum Nutrition Oats and Whey or Syntha 6.
It's important to keep in mind that consuming a balanced mix of protein, carbs, fat and fiber will help your body process the nutrition your drinking and keep you full longer, feeding muscle post workout and or simply feeding your body on top of your normal dietary intake.

I went back for more -- alas, no more 2nd free container...
Thank you!
