What a waste of money for tech that is not really all that useful. I can't remember the last time the alarm went of accidentally. I don't need a phone alert when batteries get low. That's so useless.LOL.
Am I the only one that thinks being able to silence alerts seems sort of sinister?
IMO this is WAY too expensive for something you're supposed to replace every few years so it retains good sensitivity, especially if your home needs more than one detector for good zone coverage.
So when this expires in about 3 yrs you will spend another $100 on the next model.
The Nest Protect has a lifespan of 7 years, not 3.
"Most carbon monoxide alarms have an average lifespan of five to seven years and state laws require they be replaced when they expire. The National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) legally requires that all smoke alarms be replaced every ten years."
