My boyfriend is a locums physician, and we travel all over TX for his assignments. We don't trust WIFI service at the hotels so this comes in very handy. We get 10GB/month and pay about $22/month. This is just the right amount, and we always only use about 7-8GB/month so it works out well. It's certainly not for Netflix or all-day youtube binges, but for general browsing, bank access, facebook, etc., it serves well. DL speed really depends on one's location. In N Texas, we get around 4Mbps, and in Corpus, access runs at about 2-3Mbps - not terribly fast but good enough for our intended use. Also, when we got the modem, there was only 19 days left in the FREE MONTH. Customer service told us that the modem was activated when they shipped it, so the free month starts from that moment, so when we got it after Christmas/New Year Holidays, there was only 19 days left in the free month - not that important since we wanted it for more than just the trial month. I just thought it was a little deceptive on their part to call it a free trial month when our trial month was only 19 days. Be aware, though, that customer service is almost nonexistent! The average wait time for us was 45 mins to speak with a rep, and support emails are answered 12 days later, and I aint kidding! Overall, though, it's a good backup/travel internet service. They just need to hire a customer service department.
