About
TOMS was started in 2006 as a socially-conscience shoe company, with a “one-for-one” business model, which means that, for every pair of shoes sold, another pair is donated to someone in need. They later launched a coffee company, which donates 140 liters of clean water (which is equal to a one-week supply) to a person in need, and a line of bags that use the sale of the bags to provide birth training and birthing kits to help with maternity safety in needy areas. TOMS shoes are slide-on canvas shoes, like low-top Converse, and they come in both vegan and non-vegan lines, in a wide variety of patterns and styles, including sandals, heels and boots. Their products can be found in almost every shoe store, with knock-offs carried in the low-end shoe sections. You can find them at DSW and Macy's, and they're also available on most popular shoe websites, including the company's website.
