Don't know if the quality has remained the same, but I have one of these and it's a decent quality shirt, not thin like the typical thermal underwear weight of many cheap henleys.
On the other hand it seems to fit true to how sizing was back a couple decades ago, before sizing shrink, so you probably can't get away with a 3XL if you normally wear between XL and 2XL.
