Bought this same deal almost 1 year ago as a refurb, no issues at all, it looked brand new. I usually buy higher end laptops, but decided to just be cheap this time since I buy one every 3-4 years. I like the screen, the ips panel looks great, although some people complain about the refresh rate for gaming. The keyboard is a bit soft for my taste since I'm more used to tactile keyboards. The battery life is about 2 hours with gaming or high activity, and it boots in about 3 seconds. I did upgrade the ram, and added a storage drive, but I'm very happy with the purchase and its probably still the cheapest laptop you can get with a dedicated gpu.
Official refurbs (from the manufacturer) are often better than the original. Whatever problem they have, they fix it, recheck the laptop, and send it out. only problem is warranty.
And I agree Turtles, Acer is my favorite laptop. too bad for me that they've gone away from the touchscreen too often. I have a 17" touchscreen HP now.
