Good deal, a Samsung 860 Evo is a "little" faster but they're both about at the limits of SATA3. If you want much better than this, it won't be an SATA drive.
As far as what flash prices will do, hard to say after that flash factory had the power outage.
Excellent reviews at , unfortunately, fakespot.com says "Our engine has detected that has altered, modified or removed reviews from this listing. We approximate total reviews altered up to 3883." Good reviews at I've always been happy with Crucial products and their customer service has been top notch.
Bought over 30 of these, mostly MX500's & some MX300's. Zero issues. Crucial Executive Storage Manager continues to be improved. Be aware the MX300 has a 3 year warranty. Intel 530 & 535 Series had a ton of failures & excessive wear.
Here is something to consider. Get the M.2 version with a M.2 to SATA adaptor. This will allow you to upgrade to M.2 speed if in the future you get something that has an M.2 slot. This solution will give you SSD speed now and M.2 speed in the future.
of course the potential drawback is that M.2 prices drop like a rock and you can get m,2 2tb for $50.

Hmmm....interesting, how, when prices seem to hit rock bottom, there's a mysterious incident, at a factory, that will bring prices back up, ensuring better profits!
Like the flooding, that affected the ONLY factory that made a specific hard drive part, a number of years ago, when HDD's were hitting rock bottom prices. Suddenly, hard drives are skyrocketing in price, due to a "shortage", and computers that were previously shipping with 1 TB HDD's, are suddenly being manufactured with 250 GB drives.
Can I prove it? Hell no! But I sure wouldn't be shocked, to find out this sort of thing occurs!
I agree with others. This is a VERY good product.....comparable to the Samsung 860 EVO. I have the 250gb version in a laptop and it's working very well.
BTW, Google Express (with AAAWave for $107.99 and Adorama Camera for $109.99) has this same product with 20% off for first time Google Express users ($86.39 and $87.99 respectively).
If you go through Google Express, note in the description (as other users have): "NO BOX, ADAPTER, INSTRUCTION". Not sure if it's the seller that lists the description or Google. I'm tempted to say it's Google as every seller shows exactly the same description.
