Glass can only take expansion and contraction so many times before it cracks. Better to buy a different material for longevity.

Going to nasty looking on there unless you always use distilled water. Yuck hard water minerals.

If your glassware is over 20 years old, it's not normal glass, it's borosilicate glass, which handles thermal shock quite well.

I'm guessing your cookware isn't utilized for cold-hot-cold temperature liquids. There is a reason high end teapots and french presses are stainless steel or porcelain.
