4TB/$100. Why isn’t the 8TB $200 and 10TB $250? Those are the prices I’d be happy to pay for the larger drives.

^ I'd guess higher demand and higher failure rate. At the prices they're charging, I'd just get a regular desktop 8TB for ~ $140.

I pulled several 8tb drives out if $150 enclosures and they appear to work fine in RAID configurations for many months.

Dave - I guess I am being dense. It would seem to me a bare drive saves any company the cost of the enclosure, no matter how small.

Photogeek - I learned my lesson doing this. A drive pulled out of an enclosure worked in a different enclosure, a WD my cloud, but would not be recognized in my Mac. I'll be patient and wait for it the hit my price point.
