For anyone who has these bulbs on projector headlamps... do you find that the light throw is actually less? Whiter light output means nothing if you can't see far enough to begin with.
The fan whine is only noticed with the engine off. The beam is not circular on most LEDs; they almost seem like the light is rotated 45 degrees. They only mount one way (depending on the car) so its not really fixable.
LED bulbs have a "empty" area in the center of their beams. If you want brighter lights, buy a HID conversion kit instead. The light beam is more center focused and much easier to see with when driving at night.
I agree with alphageekjay. I bought a LED kit and tried it but don't like it. It's not brighter because the beam is not center focused. It's more like a evenly distributed flood light, so the area you want to see most is not brighter.
I have these on my 2009 Chrysler T&C. Much better than the OEM light bulbs. You do need to have 6,800uF, 35 V capacitors installed or they will flicker.
I've been using these for 11 months in both my head and fog lights of my 2006 Frontier. They are VERY bright with a sharp cutoff. I LOVE THEM! I'll try to answer some of the questions. Please note all answers are based on my installation:
NO FAN NOISE and NO WHINE! I could barely hear the fog lamps with the engine off can't hear the headlights at all.
The beam was oval shaped parallel to the road in my Frontier with NO "empty area"
The install was plug and play. I didn't need anything added to prevent flicker.
I'm an astronomer and drive a lot at night on poorly lit roads. These have been a god send.

These cheap Chinese LED headlight bulbs aren't worth the crappy aluminum they are machined out of. 8000LM? I can guarantee you, without a shadow of a doubt that these are nowhere near that... Lies to get folks to buy this junk = garbage I will never buy.
