Looks they they inflate prices for these 50% sales. Banana Republic (owned by GAP) does the same, I was tracking prices on some shirts and they all went up $10 or so before the "sale".

Even with some inflated prices there are good bargains. I normally wait and stock up on jeans and some other basics at the Gap this time of year... Their jeans are, for me anyway, the most comfortable for under $100.

Awesome deal. On Black Friday, they had the 50% off coupon plus $50 gift card for spending $150. We ended up using a $100 gift card we got for $80 a couple weeks from
staples.
Always good to jump early on those gift card deals to maximize savings.
