These refurbished from canon have all been virtually brand new. Bought three so far, never noticed the slightest imperfection or signs of previous use.
My family owns 3 of the Canon Powershot cameras. NONE have given us ANY problem whatsoever.
I currently have the ELPH 330 HS. It allows me to send my pics directly to Facebook or email addresses
via wi-fi. It takes stunning photos. has them for $180 (not on sale)
One thing to keep in mind with the S100 is that they are 2011 models, which is almost 4 yrs ago.
Technology changes alot in 3-4 years...
Technology may change but image quality is what it is and the S100 is phenomenal. It is truly ageless. I was at a sweet 16 party last night and took over 100 pics with my refurbished S100 and they all came out perfect and bright. And I know my image quality as I am s party wedding photographer.
It's a very nice camera, not saying that it isn't. It's just 30% heavier & larger than the 330, plus no wi-fi, which was the selling point for me. I don't have to download pics off camera then upload to websites anymore. It saves me time in other words. The S100 actually rated slightly higher in a few categories. Not bad for a 4 yr. old cam.

odd that you would carry such a camera for such a professional - :)
as other poster said, as phone cameras have been improving, i have been less inclined to get me these cameras and take my DSLR when I know that i need to take pictures

Only the people with more money then brains still buy iPhones.
Of course you can over pay for a phone and end up with inferior pics because that convinced you not to get a camera.
