The best features are - "use the late season to maximize the crops" and - "protect against sunlight uv damage". We sure don't want any sunlight uv rays reaching our plants...
^ Kinda. In some regions, it gets too hot, particularly in late afternoon, and if you don't provide some shade, you can get dropped leaves that don't catch much sun anyway, have to water more often, and can get blossom drop (abortion).
At the same time, I am not suggesting that thin products like this, would hold up long term rather than only using them intermittently as needed, like if you were going to have an abnormally cold night before the normal first frost date, and just wanted to keep your crop alive for another few weeks, which can make a difference in produce that makes it to a ripe state before withering or rotting.

Thank you!
