I did that, paid the full price of the phone and got it unlocked instantly. Now my bill will be credited for the price of the phone over the next 24 months, but at least I sold it overseas for more. Too bad this deal came out later, though.

T-mobille will charge you taxes and upgrade fees if you go to the store. If you do it online I think you can get around the $30 upgrade charge, but can't deny Uncle Sam his cut. $25 tax
Trade in a Samsung S5 that sat around for years, still working but in slow motion, lol...not sure if this phone is any good but I am sure is better than the S5, lol...

Yup, did it online, no upgrade fee but had to paid sales tax 25.65 (NYC) and 6.99 shipping for the phone. with my S5 trade in, is still a win win....
