When I was young, I would have bent these immediately. Once I met a geared lopper, I was sold.

Yeah, heavy duty loppers are a lot more expensive than this, main thing is to resist the urge to try to fit as large a branch in as it will hold.

Use it for the smaller stuff and bust out the cordless mini-chainsaw or recip saw for anything larger.
